Juxtaposition can be categorized into 2 analogies:
Logical Analogies:
Analogies that use similarities of structures, design or function, to connect back to the subject. For example, a duck can be compared to hovercraft as both have similarities of ability to float above the water, and move on the land.
Affective Analogies:
Analogies that resembles emotions. The most effective example is to use animals to explain certain characteristics of a person (e.g. He slept like a log). It uses the intrinsic values of the object as comparison.
